This is Africa is a new publication from the FT, launched last year. The publication is edited by Peter Guest. From the magazine website (added emphasis is mine):
This is Africa seeks to examine African business and politics in a global context and to make sense of the relationships that Africa is building with the rest of the world. It aims to challenge international preconceptions about the continent and to identify the opportunities and the risks in this dynamic business environment.
The second issue come out in March 2009 and includes some insightful articles:
- The digital generation in Africa with Joe Mucheru, Head of Google East Africa
- Interview with Kofi Anan
- Aliko Dangote on opportunities across the continent as a result of the credit crunch
- Which healthcare model for Africa?

It’s great to see a lot of positive media attention on Africa focusing on the progressive angle.
