The boy who harnessed the wind

William Kamkwamba built a windmill using scraps at the age of 14 to power his home in Malawi. You can listen to his TED talk here.

Since TED, William has been busy travelling around the world sharing his story. He will be releasing a book about his windmill adventrue (with Bryan Mealer) called The boy who harnessed the wind: creating currents of electricity and hope in September later this year.   1. Interesting. Would be nice if Mubarak Muhammed Abdulahi got similar recognition for his ingenuity. Maybe some day. But, spotlighting such individuals only helps to encourage others o do what they can in spite of the challenges they face.
